 (IMPORTANCE OF READING QURAN WITH TRANSLATION &

 FOLLOWING PROPHET MUHAMMAD SAW)

My Respected Brothers and Sisters,

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ. الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ وَالْعَاقِبَةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ وَصَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ خَاتَمِ النَّبِيِّينَ وَعَلَى جَمِيعِ الأَنْبِيَاءِ وَالْمُرْسَلِينَ.

All Praise is due to Alláh, We praise Him and we seek help from Him. We ask forgiveness from Him. We repent to Him; and we seek refuge in Him from our own evils and our own bad deeds. Anyone who is guided by Alláh, he is indeed guided; and anyone who has been left astray, will find no one to guide him. I bear witness that there is no god but Alláh, the Only One without any partner; and I bear witness that Muhammad, peace and blessings on him, is His servant, and His messenger.

Brothers and Sisters as mentioned in the previous Friday sermon the importance of fasting 6 days in the month of Shawwal. The importance of these fasts mentioned in mainstream books of Hadith sahiha sitta and references have been provided in my last sermon which is also available online at mccirlam.co.uk.

For Your reminder hadith in sahih Muslim

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، وَقُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، جَمِيعًا عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، – قَالَ ابْنُ أَيُّوبَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، – أَخْبَرَنِي سَعْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ عُمَرَ، بْنِ ثَابِتِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ الْخَزْرَجِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ الأَنْصَارِيِّ، – رضى الله عنه – أَنَّهُ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏ “‏ مَنْ صَامَ رَمَضَانَ ثُمَّ أَتْبَعَهُ سِتًّا مِنْ شَوَّالٍ كَانَ كَصِيَامِ الدَّهْرِ ‏”‏ ‏

Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (Allah be pleased with him) reported Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: He who observed the fast of Ramadan and then followed it with six (fasts) of Shawwal. it would be as if he fasted whole his life. Sahih Muslim 1164a

Brothers and sisters today is another very important topic it is the importance of truth in any Religion and in our Religion Islam.

It is mentioned in the holy Quran surah Nisa – Ayat 59

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ أَطِيعُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُوا۟ ٱلرَّسُولَ وَأُو۟لِى ٱلْأَمْرِ مِنكُمْ ۖ فَإِن تَنَـٰزَعْتُمْ فِى شَىْءٍ فَرُدُّوهُ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ وَٱلرَّسُولِ إِن كُنتُمْ تُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌ وَأَحْسَنُ تَأْوِيلًا

O you who have believed, obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in authority among you. And if you disagree over anything, refer it to Allah and the Messenger, if you should believe in Allah and the Last Day. That is the best [way] and best in result. — Saheeh International

Brothers and sisters you can understand the importance of following our beloved Prophet Muhammad saw. How clear is the order to stick with Allah and Rasool Allah saw in case of any disagreement and this does not stop here Allah has regarded with the degree that this is the best way and best in result.

Now, how easy is it to follow Allah and Rasool Allah saw, it is easy to follow the Quran and then authentic hadith of Prophet Muhammad saw nowadays which are available in all formats and on all platforms. So, there is no excuse that you cannot find the hadiths of Prophet Muhammad saw.

About Quran being a practicing Muslim, we do know what it is but some of them just knew about reciting without knowing the translations. In the Asia continent majority do not read the translation and they also believe that this is the book of Hidaya and syllabus of this dunya and day of judgement. There is no doubt to read the one word is equal to 10 rewards and by reciting the 3 words is equal to 30 Rewards.

But this is cleared in holy quran and in context to above mentioned hadith in surah Infal ayat 20 to 22.

(8:20)

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ أَطِيعُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ وَلَا تَوَلَّوْا۟ عَنْهُ وَأَنتُمْ تَسْمَعُونَ

O you who have believed, obey Allah and His Messenger and do not turn from him while you hear [his order]. — Saheeh International

(8:21)

وَلَا تَكُونُوا۟ كَٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوا۟ سَمِعْنَا وَهُمْ لَا يَسْمَعُونَ

And do not be like those who say, “We have heard,” while they do not hear.

—Saheeh International

(8:22)

إِنَّ شَرَّ ٱلدَّوَآبِّ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلصُّمُّ ٱلْبُكْمُ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَعْقِلُونَ

Indeed, the worst of living creatures in the sight of Allah are the deaf and dumb who do not use reason — Saheeh International

Now, compare your whole life while going to Educational institutes, getting professional qualifications and to becoming experts, scientist and much more – how you read, research and understand which ultimately lets you the pass the exams.

But when the time comes to read the Al-Quran, Al-Furqan, Al-Dhikr, Al-Kitab and Al-Tanzil which is syllabus of success for us in this world and hereafter, but we don’t care and only rely on the Arabic which is just equal to read Arabic language.

 We should be honest with Allah swt, with ourselves and for our generations as they going to follow us as we have seen our parents since birth May Allah bless us our Parents who did efforts to teach us the Quran. People have been following their parents, grandparent so blindly that when someone tries to correct them in the light of authentic hadith they refuse to accept and give preference to their Parents on Prophet Rasool Allah saw even if they are wrong.

 Knowing the fact that the availability and access to Quran and hadith was not easy as today, if Abu Huraira may Allah be pleased with him can give the fatwa for years on one matter where Hazrat Ayesha may Allah be pleased with her got involved and told him hadith of Rasool Allah saw on one matter of Junbai Ghusal and he changed his fatwa.  

We should try  our best to understand the meaning of the words we are reading and What is the order of Allah subhanallahu tala, this is the only way we will understand about the Deen Islam and do the best practice and avoid the Munkarat, that Allah have orders us to avoid.

Nowadays the Quran is translated in all languages and Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad, is it not easy to follow the best one rather than follow so many different people. We read every day la ilaha illallah Muahmmad ur rasool Allah. So, lets convert this reading in practical with Ate’a Allah and Ate’a ur Rasool saw.

I pray that you and I will be amongst those whom Allah rewards, without limits. I also pray Allah swt gives us the understanding of the Deen and Masail according to Quran and in the light of Authentic Hadith.

Please do not follow blindly and investigate all matters you are doing by following authentic Hadith.

May Allah multiply the rewards of our fasts, grant us forgiveness for our sins and freedom from the Fire, and allow us to drink from the Prophet’s (saw) fountain, Ameen.
