Masjid Regulations

Please read these regulations carefully and observe them at all times. All attendees are held responsible to the observance of these regulations. The CIIC adopts a low tolerance stance to individuals who “plead unawareness.” Thank you for your cooperation! In order to maximize the spiritual and educational experiences of all attendees, the CIIC has set forth these regulations:

CIIC is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all our members, non-members, and guests. To promote safety and comfort, all individuals are asked to act appropriately at all times when in our facility or participating in our programs.

MOST IMPORTANTLY.

CIIC have zero tolerance policy against hate speech, we welcome all the “Masalak” within Muslim Community to use CIIC facility for prayer purposes. Cadishead & Irlam Islamic centre strongly believe and follow the teachings of The Quran and practice in the light of Authentic Hadith. 

CIIC’s Madhab is The Holy Quran and teaching of Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him.

CIIC do not allow any individual, group or member to try to impose on any other individual their following of thoughts within the CIIC facility. In case of any religious (Sharia Masial) individual, group (any one appointee) can request the meeting with IMAM. The question will be present in written and answer will be provided in the same way to avoid any misunderstanding, also this will be published on CIIC’s website under the Question & Answer heading.

CIIC only take the responsibilities of their IMAM/EC issued sermons, Statement’s and speeches. CIIC do not allow anyone to conduct any sermon, speech or statement within the facility without permission from the IMAM or EC.

The CIIC adopts a zero-tolerance towards the desecration of the prayer halls with debate and argumentation on religious, personal, or political topics

IMAM and EC are the only ones authorised to speak with any media and present CIIC view on any issue. CIIC do not take any responsibility of the statements of unauthorised person.

The CIIC-EC must pre-approve all announcements, education programs, short talks, speeches, announcement’s related to fundraising efforts, and other forms of public address. Only pre-approved individuals are allowed to give announcements.

We expect all persons using CIIC and its facilities to act maturely, to behave responsibly, and to respect the rights and dignity of others. Our Members’ Code of Conduct outlines prohibited actions. The activities listed below are not an all-inclusive list of behaviours considered inappropriate in our facilities or programs:

  1. Strictly no to hate speech.
  2. Using or possessing alcohol or illegal chemicals on CIIC property, in CIIC vehicles, or at CIIC-sponsored programs
  3. Smoking on CIIC property – the CIIC and its property is a smoke-free environment
  1. Carrying or concealing a weapon or any device or object that may be used as a weapon
  2. Harassment or intimidation by words, gestures, language, or any menacing behaviour Physical assault
  3. Verbal abuse; including threats, vulgar language, swearing, shouting, derogatory, racial and/or ethnic slurs
  4. Sexual harassment; lewd conversation, behaviour, or materials
  5. Inappropriate, immodest, or revealing attire
  6. Theft, vandalism or behaviour that results in the loss or damage of property
  7. Loitering within or on the grounds of the CIIC and its buildings, especially begging, or panhandling
  8. Illegal parking or vehicles
  9. Inciting trouble, rebellion, and/or ‘fitna’, among members and non-members to attempt to de-stabilize CIIC and CIIC management for the detriment of CIIC, by means of email, social media and forming cliques, and inciting harm to any CIIC personnel.

CIIC reserves the right to deny access or membership to any person who has been accused or convicted of any crime involving sexual abuse, is or has been a registered sex offender, has ever been found guilty of any offense relating to the use, sale, possession, or transportation of narcotics or habit forming and/or dangerous drugs, or is presently or habitually under the influence of dangerous drugs or chemicals, narcotics, or intoxicating beverages. This will be reported to the Police.

CIIC strictly do not allow access to any person or group involved in threatening views to the community or involved, convict previously terrorists activity. This will be reported to the Police.

Every supporter of CIIC must adhere to instructions provided by onsite security.

Members and guests are encouraged to take responsibility for their personal comfort and safety by asking any person whose behaviour threatens their comfort to refrain from such conduct. Anyone who feels uncomfortable in confronting a person directly should report the behaviour to a staff member, Imam or EC.

Dispute Resolution/Issues/Grievance Escalation Procedure

If a member has an issue or complaint with any aspect of CIIC facilities, sharia Masial, management or staff they are to follow the procedure below:

  1. Email info@irlammosque.org while clearly identifying the issue and any person(s) involved. Allow 14 days for a response. If the issue is not resolved within 14 days of original notification, then go to step 2.
  2. Request a meeting in writing with a Board Member(s) and discuss the issue in person. CIIC do not allow Group meetings on same issue, in this case group will appoint 1 person who will make the contact to the CIIC management. Allow 14 days for a resolution.

The EC cannot guarantee that ALL issues raised by individuals or groups will be resolved. However, the EC ensures that every valid issue will be reviewed in a timely manner.

Members, non-members, and guests, always, must follow orders, directions provided by CIIC officers, staff members, and designated volunteers.

CIIC staff members are eager to be of assistance. Members and guests should not hesitate to notify a staff member if assistance is needed.

In order to carry out these policies, we ask that members and guests identify themselves to staff when asked.

A specialized Task Force at CIIC, assigned by the EC, will investigate all submitted incident reports. CIIC membership privileges may be suspended or terminated as a result of the Task Force’s decision if it has been discerned that a violation of the CIIC Member’s Code of Conduct has occurred.

If a person has violated the CIIC Code of Conduct, the repercussions will be as follows:

  • First Violation – Oral/Verbal Warning
  • Second Violation – Written Warning
  • Third Violation – suspension of membership and/or restriction of access to CIIC facilities by way of a restraining or criminal trespass order with pursuant of prosecution.

Please note that non-members have little or no rights or privileges at CIIC other than worship services. We encourage all brothers and sisters attending CIIC to become members to exercise their rights and privileges. 

The Board of Directors reserves the right to amend this document with one week’s notice to the community.

Facilities

There are two prayer halls with designated entrances. The main prayer hall is primarily for brothers. The other smaller prayer hall is exclusively for the sisters. Please respect the worship practices of the CIIC. Do not tamper with the lights, the air-condition system or sound system.

The prayer halls are handicapped accessible with the ramp on the south-east side of the building. Contact the CIIC Executive Committee (CIIC-EC) members if you need assistance. Do not block the hallways leading to the prayer halls, doorways, or the access ramps.

There is a designated Imam. Backup Imams are designated by Masjid.

Etiquette

Please dress modestly, sensibly and according to Islamic etiquette. Remove shoes before entering the prayer halls and place them on the shoe racks.

Please do not eat or drink in the prayer halls unless is Ramadan or any other event organized by CIIC.

Please be mindful of attendees and worshipers.

Please minimize all conversations in the prayer halls.

Keep your children close to you at all times.

Technology Etiquette

Please observe cell phone etiquette in the prayer halls. Cell phones and electronics should be placed on “SILENT.” Cell phone conversations are not permitted in the prayer halls. For event filming and photography, please contact the CIIC-EC for an appointment. All internet browsing on the masjid wireless should be appropriate for children and adults at all times. Individuals who view unacceptable materials online will be asked to leave.

The internet shall be reserved for educational purposes.

All internet usage must be used for appropriate, halal and educational purposes. Visitations of music or inappropriate websites are not tolerated. The CIIC reserves the right to interpret the nature of “appropriate halal and educational purposes.”

Food Safety

While Masjid does provide refreshments to attendees from time to time, all individuals are requested to be responsible and aware of the food content offered in the CIIC. If you are allergic to any food or chemicals, please notify the CIIC. CIIC will make sure that your safety is first addressed. CIIC is not responsible for any medical related allergies or accidents resulting from the negligence of attendees.

Public Services

Jummah Prayer services will be according to CIIC prayer timetable. The 5 daily prayers’ times change monthly and are announced ahead of time by the management.  The call to prayer (Adhan) will be done 10 – 15 min before prayer starts depending on the prayer of the day.

Please do not remove any Qur’ans or books from the sanctuary. Return all Qur’an, books, and other educational materials to its designated locations. CIIC declines donations of all written materials, except with express written approval from the CIIC-EC.  If you need a personal copy of the Quran, contact one of the CIIC-EC members.

For lost and found, please contact the one of the CIIC-EC members. The CIIC is not liable for any personal losses or damages.

Report all suspicious activities to the management.

CIIC appreciates anonymous tips on any violations of the afore mentioned regulations. CIIC reserves the right to take all necessary steps against individuals who infringe upon these regulations. This will be report to the Police.

Guest Sermons/Programs

CIIC board (Shoura) shall approve any guest speakers for Khutbah, lectures or classes. CIIC board shall consult with the Imam/CIIC-EC to help making suitable decisions in favour of the community’s benefit.

Overnight Stay

Other than the yearly Ramadan Itikaf, the CIIC does not allow any individual or group to stay overnight inside or outside of the CIIC without the explicit approval of the CIIC-EC for groups like Tableeghi Jammah. All relevant rules and regulations apply.

Distributing, Selling, or Donation collection

No individual is allowed to distribute or sell on the premises of the CIIC which includes the parking lot, unless approved by the CIIC-EC. CIIC does not allow individuals to distribute anything without the express permission of the management. This includes, but is not limited the selling or the distribution of paraphernalia, literature, pamphlets, flyers, books, brochures, advertisement ads, goods, food, etc.

All donation collection effort on the Masjid premises must be pre-authorized by the CIIC-EC. Any unauthorized donation collection boxes will be promptly removed. All funds collected in the Masjid premises must be processed through the CIIC accounting.

Visitation and Safety Policies

The legal name of the institution is Cadishead & Irlam Islamic Centre.

Parking lot: Vehicles should be parked between the two white lines of a parking space and not double-parked. All visitors and attendees should not park in spaces designated for visitors.

The above facilities operate under the CIIC management. CIIC aims to provide the community with prayer facilities, quality education programs, and a safe zone for attendees to meet and network. CIIC is open to attendees Muslims and non-Muslim, as well as their respective families.

Imam Office hours

Other than the daily prayers, the office hours will be according to CIIC Notice board.

Please contact member of the CIIC-EC if you are a visitor. All visitors should observe the same rules as required by all attendees of this mosque. The mosque is open for visits at all prayer times. However, to schedule an appointment beforehand, please note the office hours from website or notice board. The office will help coordinate a time for your visit.
