The Makkan Period “ The Phase of Secret Invitation” (Revelation First 3 Years)

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ. الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ وَالْعَاقِبَةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ وَصَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ خَاتَمِ النَّبِيِّينَ وَعَلَى جَمِيعِ الأَنْبِيَاءِ وَالْمُرْسَلِينَ.

All Praise is due to Allah, we praise Him and we seek help from Him. We ask forgiveness from Him. We repent to Him; and we seek refuge in Him from our own evils and our own bad deeds. Anyone who is guided by Allah, he is indeed guided; and anyone who has been left astray, will find no one to guide him. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, the Only One without any partner; and I bear witness that Muhammad, peace and blessings on him, is His servant, and His messenger.

Dear Brothers and Sisters …

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

Indeed, Allah Almighty revealed this Quran and made it a source of guidance. And a path to success in this world and the afterlife for the one who believes in it, reads and reflects on its verses and acts according to it:

Al Isra (17) 9: Indeed, this Qur’ān guides to that which is most suitable and gives good tidings to the believers who do righteous deeds that they will have a great reward

He did not say “guides to the proper path” but rather He the Almighty said: “guides to that which is most suitable”. That is in every matter, it guides to what is the best and most excellent.

The life of Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) is divided into two periods after Allah honored him with the Prophethood and the Message. Each of these periods of his life were distinguished from the other, they are:

1. The Makkan Period: Approximately Thirteen Years
2. The Madinian Period: Approximately Ten years

Each Period is made up of different levels, each of these levels being specifically distinct from the others. This become apparent after a brief investigation into the phases that the invitation to the message passed through during each of the two periods. The makkan period may be divided into three levels:

 

1. The Phase of Secret invitation: which lasted for three years
2. The Phase of Public invitation: To the people of Makkah spanning from the begning of the fourth year of Prophethood until he migrated to madina.
3. The Phase of Invitation outside of Makkah: from the end of tenth year of Prophethood through the madinian period until the end of the Prophet’s life.

Today we will discuss the Makkan Period and The Phase of Secret Invitation.

The phase of secret invitation, which is lasted for three years, lets discuss these 3 years in the light of Revelation of Holy Quran.

In this phase of 3 years Jabril AS bring down 7 revelations.

1. First Revelation: Surah Al-Al’aq 96              (from 1 – 5 Ayat)
2. Second Revelation: Surah Mudassir 74       (from 1 – 7 Ayat)
3. Third Revelation: Surah Muzamil 73           (From 1 – 7 Ayat)
4. Fourth Revelation: Surah Fatiha 01             (Complete Surah 7 Ayat)
5. Fifth Revelation: Surah Ad-Duha 93            (Complete Surah 11 Ayat)
6. Six Revelation: Surah Al-Nashra 94              (Complete Surah 8 Ayat)
7. Seventh Revelation: Surah Al-Asr 103         (Complete Surah 3 Ayat)

The sequence of these Ayat and how they link with each other (the Beauty) I quickly explain you by translation of these versed of Holy Quran.

So, I will explain you the connection between each of Revelations. Lets start with:

First Revelation (Surah Al-Al’aq) 96:

In the Cave of Hira on 21^st Ramadan

No doubt: Start of Great Book with the word “READ” AND THEN READ With the name of Allah the Exalted and Revelation on one of the Mighty Messenger Prophet Muhammad SAW.

Point 1. Start with Read and start with name of Allah.

Point 2: Creation of Humanity

Point 3: Then it is all about Generosity of Allah Subhana wai Taila

Point 4: The Allah who give the human knowledge to use the Pen

Point 5: Then Taught human which he knew not.

So 5 points clearly explained in 5 Ayat, And

Now let’s see the 2^nd revelation.

Second Revelation: Surah Mudassir    74       (from 1 – 7 Ayat)

Second Revelation with again 7 ayat and it is about

Point 1. Fear of Allah and Judgment Day

Point 2. Praises Allah Subhana Wai Taila

Point 3. Purification of garments.

Point 4. Don’t do the favour to get more return

Third Revelation: Surah Muzamil 73   (From 1 – 7 Ayat)

Fourth Revelation: Surah Fatiha  01    (Complete Surah 7 Ayat)

When instructed from Reading Quran to Garment, purification and Pray, then after Allah reveals Surah Al-Fatiha.

Then Fifth revelation about the people who is part of Islam in this Era Specially Orphans.

Fifth Revelation: Surah Ad-Duha 93 (Complete Surah 11 Ayat)

Six Revelation: Surah Ash-Shara   94   (Complete Surah 8 Ayat)

 

Seventh Revelation: Surah Al-Asr  103 (Complete Surah 3 Ayat)

This is the final Revelation of this phase and this is very much important.

 

Al Ahzaab (33) 56: Indeed, Allah confers blessing upon the Prophet, and His angels [ask Him to do so]. O you who have believed, ask [ Allah to confer] blessing upon him and ask [ Allah to grant him] peace.

Allahumma Sallai Al’a Muahmmad’n wa’aila Muhammad

Remember Allah, the Great – He will remember you. Thank Him for His favours – He will increase you therein.  And seek forgiveness from Him – He will forgive you. And be conscious of Him – He will provide you a way out of difficult matters. And, establish the prayer.
